  • A highly experienced and well qualified HR Director specialising in employment law, talent acquisition and development, organisational development, employment relations and litigation.

  • Laura has over 15 years of private and non-profit sector experience, a practical understanding of operational management as a national operations manager, combined with operational and strategic HR management experience, up to Board level. She was previously a Director of a medium-sized Accountancy Practice specialising in HR consultancy and employment law for clients and is considered an integral part of senior leadership teams driving cultural change.

  • She is a qualified mediator (civil and commercial) as well as a skilled negotiator, with particular expertise in manufacturing and professional services environments. Experienced in settlement negotiations, employment dispute resolution and unionised environments spanning multiple UK sites.

  • She has experience of developing HR professionals, in particular using employment law expertise to increase understanding and commercial advantages of settlement vs fighting claims, as well as organic HR development for apprentices, junior advisors and assistants. More recent experience includes developing HRBPs and recruitment partners; how to prepare a strategy, how to confidently present to stakeholders and is the fight (tribunal) worth the time and effort.

Laura is a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership and Management, Chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, and an Affiliate of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives with a certificate in employment practice.  She also trained in employment tribunal advocacy through Central Law Training, with coaching from an experienced retired employment judge and trainer of solicitors and barristers, and thoroughly enjoys advising and representing clients in employment tribunals.  Laura recently passed a specialist employment law course with a merit and a distinction, following two case assessments and continues to progress through her CILEx exams to eventually qualify as an employment lawyer.
